Egyptian protesters are planning a massive demonstration against plans to give Islamist groups a key role in drafting a new constitution. The Shura Council and People's Assembly are scheduled to meet Saturday to select a constituent assembly to write the constitution, bikyamasr.com reported. A coalition of 18 groups using the name People's Committee for Constitution has scheduled a protest outside the hall. The Freedom and Justice Party, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Nour Party, a conservative group representing followers of the strict Salafi movement in Islam, want half of the constituent assembly to be members of parliament. That would give the two parties a decisive voice.
