Dozens of Palestinian protesters rallied in Ramallah's Al-Manara Square on Friday in solidarity with the Egyptian people. The protesters, mostly affiliated to Fatah, said the rally was held to express solidarity with the Egyptian people and against violence by the Muslim Brotherhood. Fatah Youth spokesman in Ramallah Muatazz Qaush said the rally "comes to confirm that the Palestinian people definitely support the Egyptian people’s rights and to say that violence is unacceptable." Protesters waved Egyptian and Palestinian flags, and a poster urged the Palestinian leadership to grant Palestinian citizenship to Egypt's army chief General Abdel Fattah Sisi. Other posters urged Palestinians to avoid intervening in Egypt's internal affairs. The Fatah Youth spokesman added that the rally was also held to express solidarity with Palestinians on hunger strike, and to denounce Hamas' closure of the media offices of Ma'an News Agency and Al-Arabiya TV network in the Gaza Strip.
