
Thousands of protesters in Ismailia gathered in main streets of Ismailia to express joy and to celebrate the Armed Forces statement that brought the regime of Mohamed Morsi to an end. People shouted, whistled, blew car horns and frantically chanted slogans to support the Egyptian Army. In a televised speech, Armed Forces General Commander General Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi announced on Wednesday the transfer of the presidential powers to the head of the constitutional court. He also declared suspending temporarily the country's constitution and holding early presidential elections. In the meantime, a crisis management operations room in Matrouh governorate is in permanent session to confront any emergency, said secretary-general of the governorate.
