Putin urges measures to stabilise situation in Ukraine

In his telephone conversation with U.S. President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the importance ofemergency measures to stabilize the situation in Ukraine, Itar-Tass quoted the Kremlin on Saturday.He stressed the necessity of the work with radical opposition, which “has brought confrontation in Ukraine to an extremely dangerous verge.”The Russian president stressed the necessity of urgent measures to stabilize the situation, laying a special emphasis on the work with radical opposition, the press service reported.Meanwhile, an agreement to end the crisis in Ukraine provides for early presidential elections in December 2014, Andrei Klyuyev, Ukraine’s presidentialadministration chief has said earlier.“Both the authorities and the opposition should meet more conditions after the 2004 Constitution has been restored and an amnesty law has been passed,” Klyuyev explained.
