The three-day meetings of the Social Forum of the Human Rights Council, held as part of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Declaration on the Right to Development, were concluded here Wednesday evening. Qatar''s delegation to these meetings was chaired by HE Sheikh Khalid bin Jassim Al Thani, Director of the Human Rights Office at the Foreign Ministry. The delegation addressed the meetings and focused on the challenges of the development and the future, and the declaration on ''the Right to Development'', the measures and procedures necessary to make the right to development a reality for everyone at the local, national, regional and international levels, and financing for development. The delegation emphasized that the issue of promoting and protecting human rights, including ''the Right to Development'', constitutes a strategic choice for the State of Qatar and is the backbone of the comprehensive reform policy pursued by the country.
