Qatar has welcomed the approval by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) granting the State of Palestine full membership in the organization. This came in a statement by an official source at the Foreign Ministry to Qatar News Agency (QNA) today. The official noted that this historic approval is an important step on the way to give the State of Palestine full membership in the United Nations. The source expressed Qatar appreciation for all the countries that voted in favor of accepting the State of Palestine in the organization .. calling on the international community and continue its support for Palestinian people in order to achieve their full legitimate rights including their right to self-determination and establish their independent state with Al Quds as its capital. At the end of his statement, the official expressed confidence that the membership of the State of Palestine is an important addition to the organization that will contribute to promoting a culture of peace and security in the Middle East and the world at large.
