
The Director of the Department of Asian Affairs at the Qatari Foreign Ministry stated that the visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Doha yesterday came in the context of visits paid to the State of Kuwait and Sultanate of Oman for exchanging views on the Geneva agreement on the Iranian nuclear program (5+1). He told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that Qatar, in the meeting between Emir of Qatar HH Prince Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and the Iranian Foreign Minister, welcomed the Geneva Agreement as a maiden step for a comprehensive solution to achieve stability in the region. He added the Qatari Emir asserted Qatar's solid stand with the Syrian people's just demands and it welcomes a political solution ensures the legitimate rights of the Syrian people, stressing Qatar has no intention of opening communication channels with the Syrian regime, but it only communicates with the legitimate representative of the Syrian people, the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces.
