More than 500,000 people within the state benefited from Qatar Charity (QC) projects during the holy month of Ramadan . The projects, worth more than QR11mn, included aid and Iftar distribution, awareness campaigns and popular variety programmes. QC executive director of local development, Mohamed al-Ghamidi, said that the Ramadan projects had managed to attain the set targets inside Qatar. “The projects have been able to spread the spirit of solidarity, compassion, and co-operation within the local society,” he said. He pointed out that the projects targeted underprivileged families, labourers and common people and included distribution of food , financial aid and Eid gifts. The Al-Baraha tent project provided fun for all members of the family. Al-Baraha attracted thousands of visitors. Al-Ghamidi appreciated various partnerships between QC and other public and private entities within the country during Ramadan. The overall cost of QC projects during Ramadan, inside and outside Qatar, amounted to QR30mn. The projects benefited more than 1,250,000 people. From gulf times.
