
The Secretary-General of Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) Saleh bin Ali Al Mohannadi met here today with the Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF” to the Arab Gulf countries Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ziq. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Ziq reaffirmed his support to the concrete humanitarian efforts and the leading role of the government of the State of Qatar in different parts of the world, lauding, as well, the role undertaken by the humanitarian organizations in Qatar in various fields. Discussion during the meeting dealt with current humanitarian issues, particularly the Syrian refugees and displaced Syrians. Al Mohannadi stressed the importance of the vaccine project, noting that Qatar Red Crescent has a field experience in this area as it had carried out a control and supervision mission for the implementation of the vaccines project for Syrian children in 7 provinces in Syria, in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO) and 20 other international institutions.
