The First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi arrived in Quito, Ecuador, late Thursday on the second leg of his two-nation Latin American tour, which already brought him to Cuba. Having arrived in the country, Rahimi was welcomed by Ecuador's Foreign Relations Minister, Ricardo Patino, at Quito airport. Patino told Rahimi in the welcoming ceremony that Tehran and Quito share common stances on many economic and political issues as the two countries have very good and brilliant relations. “We hope that while Iranian Vice-President is in Ecuador, some problems relating to the two countries’ industrial and trade ties would be resolved.” Rahimi for his part, calling Ecuador a friend and brother country to Iran, said, “We hope further expansion of the two-way ties in light of emphasis and attention paid by the two countries’ presidents.”
