Head of the Intifada and Holy Quds Central Office in Iran Ramadan Sharif underlined that the Iranian nation will deplore the US attempts to revive 'peace talks' between Israel and the Palestinians in the International Quds Day rallies. "The Iranian nation by compliance with Imam Khomeini (the late founder of the Islamic Revolution) and Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei)'s calls will support the Jihadi move of the Palestinian resistance groups and condemn the revival of the reconciliation plan in the Quds Day rallies," Sharif said in a press conference in Tehran on Wednesday. Earlier this month, US Secretary of State John Kerry claimed that he finally “convinced Israeli and Palestinian officials to return to the negotiating table.” This is while the prospects for peace appear just as unlikely as before. Sharif stressed that the Islamic Ummah is aware that all reconciliation plans in the past 65 years have yielded no good results for the Palestinian nation and instead created an opportunity for the Zionist regime to continue its cruelties and crimes. The last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan is dubbed as 'the international Quds Day' during which worldwide Muslims and non-Muslims (including anti-Zionist Jews) stage demonstrations to voice their strong protest and outrage at the occupying regime of Israel. The International Quds Day was started by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, as a way of expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and underscoring importance of Quds to Muslims.
