
A number of Royal Bahrain Navy (RBN)'s vessels took part in the joint naval exercise (Union 16), hosted by the Royal Navy of Oman from February 22 to March 5, with the participation of GCC navy vessels, in line with the directives of GCC leaders and in the implementation of the resolutions of the Joint Defense Council on activating GCC joint military cooperation and coordination, exchanging expertise among GCC forces and upgrading the readiness level of GCC naval forces. The drill includes a number of naval combat exercises and applications, including training on command and control during joint naval operations, anti-piracy and anti-terrorism operations, landing operations and ships inspection. RBN Al-Budaiya warship, on 19 Feb 2014, set off to Kuwait on a navigational training mission.
