The UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has signed an agreement with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to jointly sponsor 5, 000 Indonesian orphans, victims of Tsunami in Indonesia. The deal was signed by Mohammed Khalifa Al Qamzi, Secretary General of RCA and Ambassador Atta Al Manan Behkit, Assistant Secretary General of OIC for Humanitarian Affairs. Al Qamzi said, after signing the agreement the RCA will join programme of OIC partners to sponsor the victims of Tsunami, indicating that the two sides also discussed setting up of a partnership to provide drinking water to the victims of drought in the Horn of Africa. For his part, Bekhit praised the care of H. H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, Chairman of the RCA, to sponsor the orphans and work to curb the effect of deprivation.
