The release of the new Nike Air Jordan Gamma Blue 11s triggered fights among customers in shoe stores across the United States, officials said. The shoes were made available Saturday for $170, the New York Daily News reported. Video clips taken in stores nationwide showed customers getting into fistfights trying to snag a pair of the sneakers. At a shoe store in the Weberstown Mall in Stockton, Calif., several fights broke out. Police told KTXL-TV, Sacramento, customers fled the scene and no arrests were made. In Houston, a long line of people waiting to buy the shoes before one store opened became rowdy. Police were called to the scene to calm the crowd, and remained there to maintain control after the store opened, KDFW-TV, Dallas, reported. Outside a Foot Locker in the Bronx section of New York City, a number of people began fighting, the Daily News said. There were no reports of injuries or arrests.
