Pakistani religious leader on Monday denounced the report of the United Nation's special human rights rapporteur on Iran. Talking to IRNA, the former Chief of Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that the west is trying to defame the Muslim countries by issuing false reports. Ahmad Shaheed released his latest report on the situation of human rights in Iran on March 6, in time for the 19th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. Shaheed claimed in his report that rights violations have increased in Iran. Iranian Justice Minister Morteza Bakhtiyari described Ahmad Shaheed's report as an 'unforgivable injustice' and accused the UN rapporteur on human rights of being dishonest. Allaeddin Boroujerdi, the head of Iran's National Security Commission and Foreign Policy in the Islamic Republic Parliament, accused Shaheed of being a U.S. agent, saying that: 'instead of contacting Iranian officials, he just contacts anti-Revolutionary elements.' Boroujerdi said the report is prepared in coordination with U.S. policies against Iran. Qazi Hussain Ahmad agreed with the statement of Iranian official terming the report as imbalanced. Expressing his views the JI leader said that no one should give any importance to the baseless reports against Iran. “The report is issued with an ulterior motive to demoralize Iran,” he warned. Qazi Hussain Ahmad was of the opinion that under a policy western countries are making such actions against those countries which are following Islamic agenda. He strongly believes that the UN is a puppet of America. Teh religious leader added that a media war is going on against Muslim countries especially Iran. Qazi Hussain Ahmad noted that western media is against Muslim states and they are making false reports against Islamic countries. The religious leader asked, 'Why is west not saying anything against the killing of innocent Afghans by American soldiers?' He was confident that western countries will not succeed in accomplishing their evil designs against Iran.
