Renamo fighters raid army unit in southern Mozambique

The Mozambican former rebel movement Renamo has raided an army unit in the southern province of Gaza, official newspaper reported on Friday.
A group of reportedly heavily armed Renamo fighters raided the unit at Guija district, while no casualties were reported.
The national radio broadcaster also said that the government army responded to the incident and pursued the attackers who fled to the bushes.
Renamo spokesperson Antonio Muchanga said in a press conference in Maputo that the Renamo forces has been near the part of the country since December 2013.
On Monday's dialogue between the government and Renamo, the government delegation representative, Agriculture Minister Jose Pacheco said that Renamo armed personals have been occupying new positions in Inhambane and Gaza provinces, challenging the September agreement.
The government and the Renamo party have signed an accord to end hostilities in September last year.
