Polish Defense Ministry spokesman Bartlomiej Misiewicz said Thursday that the Krasnodar submarine of the Russian Baltic Sea Fleet has not collided with a Polish submarine in the Baltic Sea, Sputnik news agency reported.
Earlier in the day, media reported that the collision between the Krasnodar submarine and the Polish Orzel vessel took place several days ago in the Baltic Sea.
Speaking to RIA Novosti earlier in the day, a high-ranking source from the Russian Navy also denied reports on the collision, adding that a navigation incident had occurred on April 20, and the vessel had successfully returned to the Russian seaport town of Baltiysk.
"I refute the info. There was no collision of PL and RUS ships," Misiewicz said in a Twitter posting.
