Two police officers were killed and two others injured on Saturday when their vehicle struck a roadside bomb in western Afghanistan. The incident took place hours before they were due at the handover ceremony of a police training centre from NATO troops to Afghan control, local police said. “The vehicle heading from Herat city to the training centre in Adraskan city hit the roadside bomb near the centre,” said the police spokesman . One of the men killed had been at a teacher at the centre, while the other had been a police interpreter, he added, accusing as usual the Taliban militants of responsibility for the bombing. It is noted that the Taliban, often target Afghan security forces and government employees.
