Rohani: Iran, Turkey share identical views on regional issues

Iranian President Hassan Rohani said Wednesday that Tehran and Ankara hold identical views on the most important issues in the Middle East region.During his meeting here with visiting Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Rohani highlighted the need to strengthen cooperation with Turkey particularly in the combat against terrorism and the economic sector.He said the two countries have a common interest in relieving the suffering of the Syrian people and helping them to determine their future by their own.At the end of the talks, the two sides signed a document by virtue of which Tehran and Ankara would form a supreme council on political, economic and cultural cooperation that would in each capital alternately.Earlier today Iran's Supreme Leader Seyed Ali Khamenei received Erdogan and hailed the growing ties between the two neighborly countries.Khamenei said the great potentials of both countries constitute a solid foundation for closer cooperation, highlighting the need to implement the previously-signed agreements.On his part, Erdogan hailed as "helpful" the results of his talks with the Iranian leaders, voicing hope that the bilateral ties with Iran would be an example for other countries in the region to follow.Erdogan, who arrived here yesterday, wound up his official visit with came in response to an invitation from Iranian First Vice-President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri.
