Rouhani congratulates supreme leader on nuclear deal

President Hassan Rouhani congratulated Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on nuclear deal between the Islamic republic and the P5+1 group, Press TV reported on Sunday. In the negotiations, Iran's "nuclear rights and (uranium) enrichment were recognized," said Rouhani. The nuclear deal between Iran and world powers will "open new horizons," Rouhani also said in his twitter page Sunday. "Iranian people's vote for moderation, constructive engagement, (and) tireless efforts by negotiating teams are to open new horizons," Rouhani tweeted. Iran and the P5+1, or the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany, announced they have reached a deal early Sunday morning after five days of marathon talks in Geneva. The United States and its allies will afford Iran with sanctions relief equivalent to 7 billion U.S. dollars under the terms of the six-month nuclear deal, according to a White House statement. In exchange, Iran will halt nuclear enrichment above five percent in purity, it added. "Iran's uranium enrichment program was recognized," Abbas Araqchi, Iran's nuclear negotiator and deputy foreign minister, was quoted by official IRNA news agency as saying without elaboration. But U.S. Secretary of States John Kerry denied the deal gives Iran a right to enrich uranium. Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said Sunday that under new agreement, world recognized Iran's uranium enrichment program. The "resistance of Iranian nation... have made the world recognize Iran's uranium enrichment program," said Zarif following an agreement between Iran and the P5+1 in Geneva on Sunday morning. Under this agreement, "the uranium enrichment in Iran will continue" and "none of Iran's nuclear sites will be closed," said Zarif said according to state TV. It was agreed that "uranium enrichment in Iran will be part of any solution" to the country's nuclear issue, he was quoted as saying. Zarif said that the nuclear deal between Iran and the powers will help the peace.
