
Russia calls for the stabilization of the situation in Egypt on the basis of national accord and impermissibility of violence, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday after a meeting between Russian presidential special envoy in the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation and Planning Amr Darrag. The negotiators discussed several topical issues of Russian-Egyptian relations, confirmed the common intentions for their further strengthening in different spheres. “They also exchanged views on the development of the situation in Egypt with the focus on the importance of its stabilization on the basis of national accord, impermissibility of any violence and the settlement of the problems emerging in the legal framework,” the ministry stated.
