Russia, India to drill 'peace enforcement' operation at Indra-2015 exercise

The Russian-Indian Indra-2015 maneuvers will be conducted in India in November during which the military will drill a "peace enforcement" operation under the UN mandate, the press service of Russia’s Southern Military District told TASS on Tuesday.

"The forthcoming exercise will focus on the preparation and conduct of a joint peace enforcement operation in the designated responsibility area under the UN mandate," the press service said.
According to him, the maneuvers will last for 13 days, without the time needed for the redeployment of the troops’ contingents.

The exercise will involve 250 troops from each side with their standard weapons. Russia will be represented at the drills by motorise infantry battalion units of the 20th motorised infantry brigade of the Southern Military District, and India - by units of the Grenadier Guards’ 13th battalion.

Last year, the Indra maneuvers were conducted in Russia’s Primorsky territory. The drills are conducted alternately in Russia and India.
