
Delegations of Russia, Turkey and Iran today, ended six-hours-long talks on drafting a final document that becomes a basis for the negotiations between the delegations of the Syrian regime and opposition, without significant results.
In remarks today, Russian delegation's head Alexander Lavrentyev expressed hope that the an agreement on the document would be reached by Monday, the official date for starting the direct negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition.
We do not seek easy solutions... we are make an effort to bring closer the positions of the parties to the Syrian conflict, Lavrentyev said adding that the Russia is optimistic about the Astana meeting.
He said the Russian delegation would hold, later in the day, meetings with the delegations of the conflict parties.
