Russian aircraft have delivered about 40 tons of UN food products to Syria's eastern city of Deir ez-Zor besieged by militants, said the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Thursday.
The center said the aid was delivered via parachutes, and a few tons of humanitarian aid have also been delivered to the Al-Kabu area in the central province of Homs and the Azizia area in the northern province of Aleppo.
In addition, medical assistance has been provided to 52 citizens, including 24 children in Syria, the center said.
"Humanitarian convoys for Syrian people are being formed," the center said, adding that some citizens in Aleppo have received cargos with bread.
The five-year civil war in Syria has killed more than 250,000 people and displaced millions more.
