Russian Communist Party: Syria is facing new form of colonial war

The 15th Conference of the Russian Communist Party on Sunday stressed full support for Syria in the face of the foreign aggression launched against it. The participants in the Conference considered in a statement reported by Russia Today website that what is happening in Syria is "a new form of colonial war" waged by mercenary gangs recruited, funded and armed by Western sides. They called upon the Russian leadership to provide powerful political and material support to Syria in order to help it keep its ground and confront the foreign aggression. "The Russian Communists announce their full support for the brave struggle of the Syrian people against the modern colonialism," the statement said. The participants noted that the West seeks the downfall of the legitimate authority in Syria because it doesn't like the independent foreign policy adopted by it.
