Russian delegation not to attend navigation forum in Australia due to visa problems

The Russian delegation will not take part in the United Nations satellite navigation symposium in Australia, employee of the Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems company Sergey Revnivykh wrote on his Facebook page.

"It seems that the Russian delegation will not take part [in the symposium], the visas have not been issued. All decisions of the group [on satellite navigation - TASS] will be conditional, they must be agreed with the Russian participants before November," he said.

Some media outlets earlier reported, citing co-chairman of the working group on compatibility and interoperability of the UN International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems, employee of the Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems company Sergey Revnivykh, that there were problems with issuing visas for the Russian participants in the navigation forum in Australia. The sources in the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) later refuted this information in the media.

The Roscosmos press service declined to comment on the issue.
