
A Russian diplomatic source stressed that the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov and his U.S. counterpart, John Kerry, will meet in Paris on January 13th within the framework of the preparations of the international conference on Syria "Geneva 2". Russia Today website quoted the source as saying, "the two sides will discuss again the issue of Iran's participation which is urged by Russia." The source added that Kerry is expected to brief Lavrov on the outcome of the meetings held by the US with representatives of the Syrian opposition. Earlier, United Nations Secretary General's Spokesperson, Martin Nesirky, said that the UN hopes that Lavrov and Kerry will reach decision on Iran's participation in Geneva 2.
