Russia’s Consulate General in New York is verifying the reports that people born in the Russian North Caucasus might have been involved in the Boston bombings earlier this week. “At this moment, we’re verifying the mass media reports that the individuals involved in the explosions might be descendents from North Caucasus,” Consul General in New York Igor Golubovsky told Itar-Tass. He indicated that the consulate did not receive any queries from the U.S. officials as regards the two men detained in connection with the acts but the Russian diplomats are ready to cooperate with the Americans closely. Media reports said earlier the focal point of the situation is kept on Tamerlan Tsarnayev, 26, and his brother Johar, 22. Tamerlan was killed in an exchange of fire with the police. He had an explosive device fixed on his body. The Massachusetts police are currently trying to detect Johar Tsarnayev. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick has asked people living in Boston and the suburban areas to refrain from leaving their homes until the end of the police operation and to keep their doors closed when unfamiliar people knock on their doors. Friday, all the nationwide channels in the U.S. were showing Johar Tsarnayev’s photo in special news programs. TV channels recall that shortly before the terrorist act one of the brothers left a message in one of the global social networks. It said: “I don’t have a single friend among the Americans. I don’t understand them.”
