The Russian Foreign Ministry has advised Russian travellers against going to Egypt. “The internal conflict in Egypt is aggravating. It is accompanied by mounting tensions and violence. Casualties on both sides are soaring,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Thursday. “There have been attacks by extremists against Christian churches and mosques. Crime has surged up.” “Clashes and unrest, which started in the capital, are quickly spreading to other cities and areas of Egypt, including those visited by tourists,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman said. In a situation like that the Foreign Ministry advises Russians to refrain from visiting Egypt,” Lukashevich said.
