Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will hold talks with his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez who is arrive here Thursday for an official visit to Russia, the Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Alexander Lukashevich said at a briefing. "Cuba is one of Russia's old friends and partners, cooperation with whom is strategic. Cooperation between Russia and Cuba in international affairs is based on the same or similar stances on most key issues of the modern world," Lukashevich said in his briefing relayed by Voice of Russia, Interfax news agency Thursday. Lukashevich said that Russia "is consistently supporting the necessity of immediately lifting the trade and economic embargo on Cuba by the United States." The official said that the two foreign ministers planned to sign a plan on holding political consultations between the Russian and Cuban Foreign Ministries in 2014-2016.
