
Russian President Vladimir Putin received today a message from his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika on the status of the world oil market.
Algerian Energy Minister Youcef Yousfi, who is currently visiting Moscow, handed the letter to the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov when he met him here today.
Talks during the meeting focused on the global oil market imbalance and collapse in oil prices and its impacts on the economies of the OPEC member states and Non-Member States in addition to ways to develop relations between the two countries, especially in the field of energy, said Algerian Energy Ministry in a statement today.
Bouteflika's initiative, based on dialogue and consultation between all countries concerned with status of the world oil market, aimed at finding necessary means to restore balance to market benefits to all parties and to come up with a clear vision for the oil and gas industry , said Algerian Energy Minister .
