The Russian and U.S. presidents, Dmitry Medvedev and Barack Obama, are likely to meet in Seoul in March 2012, White House spokesman Jay Carney said on Friday. Obama and Medvedev had a phone conversation on Friday. Obama congratulated the Russian leader on Russia’s admission to the World Trade Organization and voiced the United States’ plan to continue mutually beneficial cooperation. “The two presidents said they looked forward to meeting next at the Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul, South Korea in March 2012,” Carney said in a statement. Obama and Medvedev last met on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Hawaii in November 2011. The Kremlin said on Friday that during the conversation, the presidents also touched upon plans of possible future top-level contacts.
