Russian warship heads to Syria

A destroyer of the Russian Black Sea Fleet left Sevastopol over the weekend and will fulfill tasks near Syria’s shores, military sources told RIA Novosti on Monday. The Smetlivy ship is also expected to call at the Russian maintenance base at the Syrian port of Tartus. Earlier the Russian Navy said the ship was heading to the Mediterranean Sea.
