Two Russian nationals have been arrested in Dubai for stealing $500,000 from a money transfer company, the Dubai-based Khaleej Times Online reported on Monday. An employee of the company, a woman who was attacked by the robbers last week, said that she was in the locker room when the two men stormed in and assaulted her with a taser, Khaleej Times quoted the local chief investigator Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri as saying. Mansouri also said the thieves had received directions from a Russian employee at the firm, who was caught after giving contradictory information during interrogation. “He confessed that he helped the two by giving them information on the safe, when the money would arrive in the office, an the time the manager would be alone there,” Mansouri told the Emirat Alyoum daily. The investigator said that the thieves had been caught while splitting the stolen money between them in a hotel in Dubai. There is no information about the punishment the criminals will face.
