
Russian National Security Adviser Nikolay Patrushev will arrive in Cairo on Sunday on a two-day visit to Egypt, leading a high profile delegation, during which he will meet with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The visit comes at an invitation from Egyptian presidential national security adviser Fayza Abul Naga.
It represents an important step to follow up the outcome of President Sisi's visit to Moscow and Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent visit to Cairo.
The talks between the two sides will focus on ways of boosting strategic, political and security cooperation between the two countries and the situation in the Middle East.
