S Korean nuclear envoy to visit China

South Korea’s top nuclear envoy Lim Sung-nam will travel to China this week, officials said Tuesday, amid growing concerns North Korea may test a nuclear device following its failed rocket launch last month. Lim Sung-nam plans to meet his Chinese counterpart Wu Dawei during the two-day visit from Wednesday, South Korea’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Han Hye-jin said. She added South Korea is closely monitoring the North’s activities at its nuclear test site but there is no evidence a nuclear test is imminent, according to South Korea’s (Yonhap) News Agency. “During the visit, Lim and Chinese officials plan to assess the situation after North Korea’s long-range missile launch and discuss future actions,” Han said.
