Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said enemies were well aware of the role of Iran in the wave of Islamic Awakening in the region. The Ayatollah made the remarks Wednesday morning when addressing a gathering of people in the city of Kangavar during the 8th day of his stay in the western province of Kermanshah. The Supreme Leader referred to the utterly outstanding achievements of the Iranian nation in the past three decades and said the Iranians will continue in the path of progress and prosperity with unity, hope and independence. Pointing to the unpatriotic spirit of the leaders of the Pahlavi dynasty which was toppled in 1979 by the Islamic Revolution in Iran and their obedience towards the US and Britain, the leader said the enemies were now angry with Iran because they see that now the Iranian nation bravely confronts the hegemonic powers and opposes their oppressive policies. Elaborating on roots of the US animosity towards Iran, the Ayatollah pointed to the remarks of some of American officials who have admitted to the role of Iran’s Islamic Revolution in ruining the US policies especially in the Middle East. The Ayatollah said the evil countries are well aware that the awakened nations in the region are looking up to Iran as a role model so they have mobilized all their might and instruments to prevent “Iran and Iranians” from becoming the leader of the grand Islamic Awakening movement so that other world nations do not follow in Iran’s path of resistance. Ayatollah Khamenei further guided people of literature as well as media and press to be vigilant and fight the enemies’ plots which dwell on portraying a dark picture of situation in the country by aggrandizing weak points and underestimating achievements.
