Egypt's Ambassador to Beijing Magdy Amer asserted Thursday that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will start a two-day visit to China Friday to discuss the Palestinian issue and bilateral ties.
He is heading a delegation comprising foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Palestine and Guinea in addition to the secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Amer told MENA.
The visit will take up the latest developments in Palestine and the OIC efforts in support of the declaration of a Palestinian state.
The visit will also tackle means to boost bilateral ties in light of the visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to China in December and preparations for the due visit of the Chinese president to Egypt in mid-April, he said.
Amer said that Shoukry will meet with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi and will take up the participation of a Chinese delegation in the Egyptian economic conference due in March.
