Saudi king hospitalized for back surgery

Saudi King Abdullah was hospitalized late Sunday in the capital of Riyadh for a back surgery, the official SPA news agency reported. "The custodian of the two holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud arrived today (Sunday) evening at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh to undergo a surgery to re-tighten the binding connector around the third vertebra," the report said. Abdullah, who is around 88, underwent an operation in the United States last year after a blood clot complicated a slipped disc.
