Vice Chairman of China's Central Military Commission Guo Boxiong on Tuesday began an official goodwill visit to Cuba aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation and further promoting military-to-military relations between the two countries. Guo was greeted at the airport by Alvaro Lopez Miera, vice minister and chief of the General Staff of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces. The peoples of the two countries share broad common interests, Guo said in a statement at the airport. Over the decades, China and Cuba have witnessed healthy and stable development of their relations, marked by frequent exchanges of top-level visits and growing friendship between the two peoples, he said. Guo will meet with Cuba's state and military leaders and have an in-depth exchange of views with them on bilateral ties between the two countries and two armies.
