Visiting Vice Chairman of China's Central Military Commission Guo Boxiong on Thursday visited a Cuban military complex near Havana. The senior Chinese military official was welcomed by Alvaro Lopez Miera, vice minister and chief of the General Staff of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces. Accompanied by General Rafael Ignacio Borja, chief of the Great Unit of the Combative Glory Sanguily's Rescue complex, Guo inspected the troops and visited communications classrooms and training facilities. The senior Chinese military official, who arrived here Tuesday for a five-day goodwill visit, is also scheduled to visit military education centers. On Wednesday, Guo met with General Leopoldo Cintra Frias, Cuba's first deputy minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, and the two agreed to boost bilateral military ties on the basis of the decades-old friendship and solidarity between the two peoples and countries.
