A senior political officer was gunned down in his office on Tuesday in Pakistan's lawless North Waziristan tribal agency reportedly by an angry tribesman. According to Tribal Political Administration officials, the Assistant Political Agent Mir Ali Division, Jamal Azmat, was talking to the Jirga members of Wazir and Dawar tribes in his small office when an unknown tribesman opened fire. Mir Ali, said officials, died on the spot. Authorities said that the security forces cordoned off the area and were searching for the suspect. However, no group or tribe has been blamed so far for the killing.
