
Seven police officers were martyred Thursday afternoon in a bomb attack in the southeastern Turkish province of Diyarbakir, said the Turkish minister of development.
Cevdet Yilmaz told reporters that 13 police officers, including one in critical condition, and 14 civilians, including one also in critical condition were injured when a bomb exploded while a police service vehicle was passing in Diyarbakir province’s Baglar district.
The Diyarbakir prosecutor office, in charge of investigating the attack, said it suspected a parked car bomb was detonated when the special operation police forces' vehicle was passing, according to Turkish Anadolu news Agency.
Numerous cars near the explosion site, the Intercity bus terminal and other buildings were damaged as well.
