Maritime forces from several world countries will conduct manoeuvres in Arab Gulf water from January 31 through February 2 to test their capabilities, a Bahraini newspaper said.
Gulf News said in Sunday's edition that many ships from the United Kingdom, the US, France and Australia will participate in the drills which aim at promoting naval operations in the region.
The paper quoted Spokesman for the US 5th Fleet Lt. Ian McConnaughey as saying that the drills will include all kinds of naval operations to boost partnership among participating forces, promote sea security and enhance international cooperation to ensure free flow of trade in the Gulf region.
