A Shia cleric was killed in an arson attack on a mosque in Brussels Monday evening, according to Belgian media reports. The 47-year-old victim who was the imam of the Rida mosque in the Brussels suburb of Anderlecht, died reportedly of smoke poisoning and one other person was slightly injured when an unidentified ax-wielding man stormed into the mosque and started a fire. Police reportedly arrested the suspect in connection with the petrol bomb assault. Meanwhile, hundreds of people gathered at the mosque to mourn and pray for the victim. Reacting to the heinous crime, Belgian Interior Minister Joelle Milquet condemned it, saying she was 'very shocked.'
