Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov at a dinner banquet on Wednesday.
The meeting came in light of the positive outcome of a visit paid by Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Russia last August and the recent visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Egypt.
The two ministers discussed ways of boosting cooperation in the various fields along with Russia's participation in the economic summit, which will be held in Sharm el Sheikh in March.
They also tackled a range of regional issues of mutual interest, topped by the deteriorating situation in Libya and Arab draft resolution on Libya.
The Syrian crisis and the situation in Iraq and Yemen were also discussed during the meeting
