Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Defense Minister General Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi said Egypt's Armed Forces belong to the people and perform its mission in absolute fairness to protect the nation's security and stability. The Egyptian people appreciate the military, its role and its performance of its national duties, he said Sunday at a periodical meeting of the Armed Forces general command with the infantry top brass. The current political and economic situation requires requires that all defend Egypt's stability in a way that achieves the legitimate rights of the citizens, he said. "The Armed Forces will continue to carry out their role in protecting the nation and its stability regardless of pressures and challenges," he said. Sisi called on commanders and officers of the various sectors of the Armed Forces present at the meeting to maintain their high morale and give due attention to constant training to keep the army at the highest level of preparedness while exercizing the highest levels of self-restraint to safeguard the nation's security and stability.
