Sisi attends military parade on China's victory day

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi attended Thursday the military parade marking China's 70th anniversary of Victory Day.

President Sisi - who attended the parade alongside world leaders of 29 states - greeted Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion and wished China more progress and welfare.

Egypt is the only African and Middle East state whose personnel participate in the parade.

Sisi underlined Egypt's keenness on promoting strategic partnership with China.

During the celebration, Sisi met with many world leaders and discussed with them ways of promoting bilateral ties.

After the celebration, Sisi had talks with his Sudanese counterpart Omar Bashir, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

The talks tackled boosting bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interest.

The meeting called for the convocation of the joint committee to review the progress realized in decisions taken in files of mutual concern.

Sisi will fly for Jakarta on Friday for talks with the Indonesian leader and other senior officials on bilateral relations.

This will be the first visit by an Egyptian leader to this Asian state since 1983.

The visit is part of Sisi's Asian tour which he started on Monday with a visit to Singapore.

In Beijing, Sisi held talks with the Chinese president and premier on increasing Chinese investments in Egypt and removing any hurdles facing existing ones.
