President Abdel Fattah El Sisi highlighted Thursday the importance of enhancing Egypt's relations with African countries, especially Gabon.
According to presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef, the talks between President Sisi and his Gabonese counterpart Ali Bongo Ondimb earlier today tackled ways to enhance bilateral relations in the various domains, especially agriculture, health, education and minerals.
Egyptian companies are also expected to take part in efforts to develop the infrastructure in Gabon, the spokesman added.
Gabon's president said his government is keen on benefiting from Egyptian expertise in the various domains, Youssef said.
Regional and international issues of mutual interest were also high on the agenda of the meeting, including terrorism-combat efforts in the African continent, he added.
As for the situation in Libya, both sides asserted their support to the national unity government's efforts to retrieve national security, stability and sovereignty.
Also for Burundi, both sides highlighted the importance of an African Union decision to dispatch a delegation to probe the crisis there.
