Sisi meets president of UN general assembly

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Tuesday President of the United Nations General Assembly Sam Kahamba Kutesa in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
During the meeting, Sisi expressed Egypt’s support for Kuesta's peace efforts, lauding his management of the assembly, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Yossef said.
Sisi wished him success in performing his job in light of the strong ties between Egypt and his country, Uganda, he added.
For his part, Kutesa lauded the efforts of the Egyptian president to bring about peace and stability and push the development process in Egypt forward, boasting the results of Egypt Economic Development Conference that was held in Sharm el Sheikh, Youssef said.
Kutesa said that the conference reflected the trust in Egypt and support offered to it by the international community.
He also lauded the pivotal role of Egypt in bringing about peace and stability in the Middle East.
During the meeting, Kutesa reviewed the actions of the assembly under his leadership, Youssef added.
Sisi asserted Egypt’s keenness on newly formulating a development plan in accordance with a comprehensive vision, asserting Egypt’s commitment to cooperating with the chief of the assembly and the international partners to achieve tangible progress in the climate change issue.
The meeting also took up reforming the UN and expanding and reforming the UNSC as Sisi asserted the importance of just representation of Africa in the UNSC.
Sisi also affirmed the importance to activate the role of the assembly.
